LINDSEY ZEICHNER

Dr. Zeichner is a clinical scientist whose research spans the medical, biomedical and social sciences. Dr. Zeichner holds a multidisciplinary doctorate under the supervision of Prof Dr. Dr. R. Radlanski (Charité Universitätsmedizin, Berlin) and Prof Dr. JM Grassin (Universidade Fernando Pessoa, Porto). Dr. Zeichner’s focus is the social brain—the part of the brain responsible for communication, socialization, emotional expression, and interpretation of emotions. Specifically, Dr. Zeichner’s work addresses the pathomechanisms of communication deficits in patients with neuropsychiatric disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, autism spectrum disorders, major depressive disorder, and traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Zeichner received the Bernd Spiessl Prize (Switzerland) for work delineating the pathophysiology of the face in autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Zeichner has served as a Fellow at The Centre International d'Études et de Recherches 'Vendée Bas-Poitou' (France) and trained at academic medical centers in Europe and the United States. Passionate about innovative learning strategies, Dr. Zeichner is the founder and Director of SimuMedica Solutions, a medical education company that integrates additive manufacturing, AR, and AI to replicate anatomically and haptically-accurate, patient-specific operative fields from which surgeons can train with an AI tutor.
